We are Moviebar. A leading full-service film production company in Central Europe.
We are an award-winning full-service film production company based in Budapest and Los Angeles founded in 2004. In addition to producing high-profile commercials, we have gradually started developing our feature film and TV division, we’re now creating our own content as well. We enjoy treating each project individually, and believe in creating quality along with our experienced and passionate team of filmmakers.
Moviebar Productions was founded in 2004 by the two producers, Esther Turan and Viktoria Trepper. In 2013 they have created its Film and TV division, to which Dora Nedeczky joined as producer/strategist in 2016.

FILM / TELEVISION
In recognition of the importance of the film industry, Hungary has committed itself to becoming one of the most attractive and competitive film locations in Europe.
The Motion Picture Act
Introduced by the Hungarian government in 2004, this act provides favorable conditions for shooting films on location in Hungary.
Foreign producers can reduce their costs up to 30% of expenses incurred and paid for in Hungary.
New Shooting Fees
Introduced in Hungary from January to make location budgeting easier for producers.
Changes to Shooting Fees
Set fees for location rental per square meter with the most expensive spaces (tourism sites, famous buildings) costing a maximum of $10 per square meter a day and the cheapest (provincial settings), costing as little as $1.
The top rates will only apply to areas actually being filmed, with lower rates for areas being used by crew and technical services and bargain basement rates for parking that even in a world heritage site in the center of Budapest will cost a maximum of $2.50 per car.
Purpose of New Fees
Designed to help stabilize production costs in Hungary and attract more top international projects. Over the past decade, since generous tax breaks worth up to 25-30% of local spend were introduced, pics shooting in the country have increased.
We produced feature films, music videos and television projects for all over the world.
